West Honiara 2 – FC Guadalcanal 0

While the match opened evenly it become lopsided in the second half as FC Guadalcanal fail to create any convincing chances. Even with Luke Eroi taking charge from Martin Heti earlier this week, FC Guadalcanal suffered a general lack of creativity.
After a frustrating and goalless first half, West Honiara opened their game up by attacking from the wing while interestingly, their opponents stuck to the centre of the pitch. Khaled Taro, was causing trouble for FC Guadalcanal in the midfield but translating possession into goals proved to be a challenge for West Honiara.
Evo opened scoring in the 50th minute after a through pass beat Martin Ruhasia on the left and he drove into 18 yard box to beat the tackle from Henry Padaverana before sending the ball into the back of the net. Padaverana was replaced after sustaining an injury to his knee from the tackle and his younger brother, Thomas Malata was brought on.
The lead was exetended by Peter Kala who headed home a cross from Joe Gife. The attack was started by Taro in the midfield who shifted proceedings from the right to the left and picked up Gife who made the cross for Kala.
