Koloale 0 – FC Guadalcanal 1

Pre-match expectations were that it would be an easy one for Koloale but proceedings on the park indicated otherwise as FC Guadalcanal displayed some quality tactical play to test the opposition defence.
After two weeks with the club, Luke Eroi’s efforts were finally starting to show as the FC Guadalcanal midfield displayed much more composure and purpose.
It took only eleven minutes of play before FC Guadalcanal shocked the Koloale faithful with opening goal. A long pass originating from the defence was chased by Tutu and Koloale keeper, Timothy Mae’arasia, but the latter made an error clearing the ball leaving the forward with an empty goal from 25 yards out and he took the invitation with open arms and he sent the ball into the back of the net.
Koloale threatened to get back into the game and could have equalised midway through the first half when Atana Fa’arodo clipped the cross bar from 40 yards out. However, as the match drew on faith started waning for the Koloale and when defender Sam Maena was marched out following a red card with 10 minutes to play, there was little left for the former champions to throw against FC Guadalcanal.
Koloale are heading to a tougher encounter with KOSSA as they continue their search for their maiden win this season while FC Guadalcanal will try to move further up the table when they take on Real Kakamora in the coming round.
