Malaita Kingz 0 – Marist 0

It was a difficult afternoon of football for both clubs who threw everything they had into the game but had to make do with 1 a piece. This is the second 0-0 draw for Marist in a week and the road ahead is going to get tougher for Augustine Omearo’s men.
Malaita Kingz did not have its full strength line-up and had to call on the services of their benchwarmers. Marist did have most of its key players but it was not a day for goals as shot after shot from their forwards failed to find the target. Their opponents fared little better and fans were vocal about their disapproval for some dismal passing and finishing from both sides.
Possession swayed to and fro between the two sides throughout the entirety of the match and neither could find a usable rhythm. Cheered on by fans Marist were a little more organised but interlinking of their midfield and their forwards did not happen.
Both sides are headed for tough draws in the coming round of the Telekom S-League. Malaita Kingz will play league leaders and defending champions Solomon Warriors at 4:00pm on Saturday. Marist will play former champions Koloale.
