Our Telekom farewell Bilikiki in style

The sponsorship was delivered by Our Telekom marketing manager Robertson Szetu at Henderson International Airport before the team boarded their flight on Tuesday. Our Telekom also supplied the Bilikiki with official travel wear and training equipment for the tour.
“Our Telekom is the major sponsor of football in the country and continues to support our various football codes – 11 aside, beach and futsal. Today we support the Bilikiki boys who are representing our country and we are pleased to do so,” Szetu says.
“On behalf of the company I want to wish the team all the best in the world cup. We are behind you all the way and make Solomon Islands proud.”
Speaking on behalf of the players Bilikiki team manager, Reuben Oimae, thanked Our Telekom for their backing.
“Bilikiki, the players and management, are really happy to receive this kind support from our major sponsor. We have benefited from this partnership in the past and we look forward to continuing working with Our Telekom in the future,” Oimae says.
Our Telekom’s sponsorship of Bilikiki is under a partnership agreement between the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) and Our Telekom signed in 2010. The agreement covers national teams as well as national competitions including the Telekom S-League.
SIFF chief executive officer, Neil Poloso, also offered appreciation to Our Telekom saying that their sponsorship has changed the football landscape in Solomon Islands.
“Our Telekom delivered in a big way to Bilikiki today and SIFF is thankful for this assistance. As the major sponsor of football Our Telekom has helped us achieve more in the last four years both internationally and locally and we look forward to a strong partnership with them in the future,” Poloso says.
SIFF is working closely with the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) to organise friendly matches with other participating teams during their pre-competition camp. Countries eyed for the friendly matches are Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and hosts Tahiti.
The Bilikiki’s first match is against the Netherlands on Thursday 19th September. Their other pool matches are against Argentina and El Salvador on 21st and 23rd of September respectively.
