KOSSA 2 – Real Kakamora 0

For Real Kakamora a win would have propelled them within six points of league leaders Solomon Warriors but their desire was not supported by their performance on the park. KOSSA were in need of a win and while they did not wow anyone they got the job done quietly and effectively.
Real Kakamora were quite clear about their intentions and in the opening five minutes they piled pressure on the KOSSA defence for an early goal. KOSSA who appeared out of their depth defended strongly and managed to reclaim a share of the game at the half hour mark.
However, without any convincing finishing from both camps the first ended in a predictable goal drought.
The second half opened blandly but with Real Kakamora quickly tiring the KOSSA runners were making their presence more felt. Johnson Wanefai who lingered mostly within his own half wandered further out and lethal striker, George Suri, had more passes getting through to him.
The opening goal of the match came in the 68th minute and it was not without controversy. The cross was harmless but both Hudson Felani and the Real Kakamora goalkeeper got to the ball at the same time and while there may be argument for a foul the KOSSA midfielder did not waste time tucking the ball into the net and referee Nelson Sogo agreed with him that it was a goal.
KOSSA struck again in stoppage time from a characteristic counterattack with Suri slotting the ball past George Lifu for his side to win solidly.
