Warriors v Kakamora match postponed due to rain

The decision to reschedule the match came about after the 2:00pm fixture on Saturday, between Marist Fire and KOSSA, was halted midway after Lawson Tama was flooded and then resumed later in the afternoon. This meant that there was not enough daylight time left for the Solomon Warriors v Real Kakamora match which was scheduled to take place after the Marist Fire v KOSSA one.
Coordinator of the Telekom S-League, Ian Rarawa, informed both Solomon Warriors and Real Kakamora that their fixture would be played as a catch-up fixture later.
Rarawa explained that since there was no time to play the match and given the lighting condition it was in the best interest of the 2 teams, match officials, spectators and others concerned that it was rescheduled.
“This is a case of force majeure, a circumstance which is beyond our control so the best we could do was to consult with the 2 teams and inform them of the cancellation,” Rarawa said.
The date and time for when the postponed match will be played will be communicated to Solomon Warriors and Real Kakamora once it is decided. It is likely that the match will take place during a weekday so as not to affect the weekend schedule currently followed in the Telekom S-League.
This is the second time for a fixture involving Real Kakamora to be rescheduled. Real Kakamora were supposed to play Malaita Kingz in the opening match of the season but shipping problems left the latter stranded in their home province so their match was called off and eventually played on Sunday 30th October.
