Erakor to tour Honiara

The tour is being organised by Solomon Warriors with support from the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF). The Vanuatu side is expected in Honiara on Sunday 20th January and in town for a week. The friendly matches are scheduled for Monday 21, Wednesday 23 and Friday 25 and Erakor Golden Star will depart on Saturday immediately after the final friendly match.
According to Solomon Warriors FC they have selected Erakor Golden Star as a team they want to play against in the lead up to the OFC Champions League because they are a strong club and will give their players a good test.
“Erakor (Golden Star) are one of the surprise packages of Vanuatu football and we look forward to meeting them. As the only team to beat Amicale in their league we hope they will give us a fair impression of what we are up against when we head to Vanuatu to play Amicale,” says Solomon Warriors secretary, Kenton Sade.
Meanwhile the Solomon Warriors team is hard at work getting over the holiday season and into gear for the friendlies plus the OFC Champions League later on in the year. Their star studded line-up is expecting further boosts since the club is recalling their former players based overseas including Gibson Daudau and James Naka.
The OFC Champions League will kick off later in the year and Solomon Warriors are in Group A along with the other Melanesian sides in the competition Hekari United, Ba and Amicale of Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Vanuatu respectively.
