Erakor pulls one back

After already clinching the series with wins on Monday and Wednesday, Solomon Warriors threw their guard down and the visitors finished with their first international win ever. Solomon Warriors barely had its first eleven out on the park as the management decision, it seemed, was to rest some of their key players.
Nevertheless, a win is a win for Erakor Golden Star and coach, Timothy Wayane put it down to his team’s tactical response.
“The team played well after studying (Solomon) Warriors from previous two matches,” Wayane said.
“I would like to thank both clubs for their performance and not forgetting all the fans for their support to us,” Wayane said adding that wining is not important at this stage but the focus for both clubs is on preparing for their respective tournaments this year.
Brian Kaltack sealed his status as the star of the tri-friendly series with the first goal for Erakor Golden Star from a well taken free-kick. Solomon Warriors replied through the crafty Micah Lea’alafa who levelled the scores soon after. The home side found itself in unfamiliar territory when Jacky Reuben put Erakor Golden Star ahead and the score remained until the final whistle was blown.
Solomon Warriors are already looking to organise another set of friendly matches. The local giants are eyeing Rewa of Fiji for a tour of Honiara.
