The Solomon Islands U-17 national team come from behind to beat hosts Jersey 3-2 courtesy of goals from captain Charles Mani and a second-half brace from wonder-kid Raphael Lea’i at Springfield Stadium in the United Kingdom on Saturday, April 27 2019.
The young lads played against Jersey’s U18s in this encounter. The hosts took an early lead before Raphael Lea’i corner was turned home by captain Charles Mani to drew level at the break.
Raphael Lea’i two second-half goals saw the visitors taken a 3-1 lead before Jersey pulled a goal back to make the full-time scoreline finish at 3-2 in favour of the Solomon Islands. Congratulations to the coaching staff and the young lads.
The team will fly to Belarus for the UEFA International development tournament in Minsk.
Solomon Islands will make its UEFA debut against Moldova on Tuesday 30 April 2019 in Minsk.
