Kooline secures final berth with Mataks

Kooline will be battling with Mataks in the final for the bragging rights of the 2018 SIPA Futsal Challenge on Saturday at the Multi-purpose Hall.

Mataks secured their grand-final spot after beating Koloale 3-0 in the first semi-final today.

The boys from Matariu led 2-0 at half-time with a brace from Sammy Kiri.

His namesake Sammy Laui put the game to bed with a third in the second half to seal the win for Mataks.

Highly fancied Kooline edged a youthful Solympics side 6-2 in the second semi-final.

An encounter involving present and future of Solomon Islands futsal saw five players registered their name on the score sheet.

Kurukuru player Alwin Hou scored a brace alongside a goal from Emmanuel Magi and Philip Maeta grabbed a hat-trick for Kooline.

Known as the Junior Kurukuru, Solympics goals were scored by Franster Rukumana and William Tahariu.

It was a close match in the first 20 minutes as Kooline had to settle for a 3-1 lead at the break.

With most Kurukuru senior players in their rank, Kooline extended its lead with another three goals in the second half.

Meanwhile, the finals is set for Saturday with the 3rd/4th play-off between Solympics and Koloale at 12 and Kooline taking on Mataks in the final at 2pm.
