Our Telekom sponsors TV, radio broadcast

Already TV viewers in Honiara and radio listeners throughout the country are following Solomon Islands’ first game against Guam this afternoon. Honiara city is quickly emptying after the morning rush as people head back home to catch up with the games on TV.
Speaking from Noro in the Western Province, an ardent football follower, Trevor Veo is enjoying the match from his living room and says that he cannot describe how it feels to have this opportunity.
“In the past we just listened to the radio but now we have TV coverage and it is great for us to be able to watch the first match. I hope that this coverage will last until the final,” Veo says. “I also want to thank Our Telekom for this initiative in bringing the games to us on TV.”
President of the Isabel Football Association (IFA) Lyndon Bako, who is following the game on radio from the Isabel provincial capital, Buala, says that football fans are really pleased with the coverage.
“We are happy to have this opportunity to follow the games on radio. The result today has also made this sweeter for us and we look forward to keeping listening to more games as they come,” Bako says.
Our Telekom marketing manager, Robertson Szetu, revealed his company’s sponsorship of the TV and radio coverage at the Bonito’s corporate dinner the previous week and the adverts on TV and radio this week confirmed the deal.
The radio and TV coverage will continue until the finals of the football competition.
