Violence against children given red card

The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) who joined the campaign earlier this month took the initiative to promote the message in this high profile message to continue to promote the ENDViolence message.
SIFF Competitions Manager and coordinator of the international friendly series between Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea, says that football is pleased about that it was able to help promote the ENDViolence message.
“We are very happy to use this opportunity to share this very important message to our communities. This is a high profile match with a lot of attention and I believe that a lot of people got the message,” Omokirio says.
SIFF’s Just Play department has been actively promoting the ENDViolence message since early this month after partnering with the local UNICEF office in Solomon Islands. This is promoted in football programmes for schools and also in local youth and national competitions.
The ENDViolence is a global campaign against violence and all forms of abuse against children initiated by the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF). It aims to encourage people to report and act against violence against and abuse of children in their communities.
