Western United 0 – Marist 0

saw them barely dominate possession and almost came out second best. Marist had little that could match the Western United arsenal but team work proved an effective tool for them.
The only exciting event in the first half was Abraham Iniga’s shot curled in from a rebound which almost beat Marist’s former goalkeeper Navusu Kitu. With a well coordinated defensive plan in place Marist kept Western United frustrated throughout.
The second half did not go any better for 2012 runners-up who saw their every move meet stubborn opposition from Marist. Marist substitute, Dickson Maggi, injected some excitement after coming midway through the second half but he could not break the deadlock either.
The share of points was confirmed when match referee, George Time, put an end to the match. Western United are sure to feel more disappointed as they look ahead to a row of difficult matches in the rounds 4 and 5 of the Telekom S-League.
