SIFF assists Goldie College

The set of gardening tools included spades, forks and brush knives destined to be used by students for maintenance of the school grounds and for agricultural activities.
Besides the gardening tools a 1000 gallon water tank was given to the schools to assist with the supply of clean drinking water for female students at the school. The water tank will be installed in the newly completed girls dormitory which was also funded by the LEARN&play project. The water tank will alleviate the shortage of drinking water suffered by the female students at Goldie College.
The handover of the assistance was conducted at Goldie College in the Western Province on Saturday in a brief ceremony in the school’s dining hall. Teachers and students from the school and officials from SIFF witnessed the handover ceremony.
SIFF Special Projects Manager, Phillip Ohoto’ona, said that SIFF has a special interest in Goldie College as a partner school in the LEARN&play program and is happy to assist the school.
“I hope that the tools will be put to good use in cleaning up the school. The water tank will help our female students have good clean drinking water,” Ohoto’ona said.
Ohoto’ona also extended his appreciation to the former Goldie College students who organized the week long program of sports, community awareness and rehabilitation program that culminated in the handover of the donation on Saturday.
Goldie College Principal Tito Mamani, thanked SIFF for assisting Goldie College with the water tank and the gardening tools and all the assistance the school has received from national football body.
