SIFF Congress moved to October

After evaluating the amount of work the SIFF administration office is currently engaged in the SIFF Executive Committee has decided that the congress will now be held on the 27th of October, 2010 instead of 27th September as announced in the media last week.
SIFF also confirmed that the congress development workshops will be held on the 25th and 26th of October prior to the congress proper sitting.
The reason for the postponement is because of the clash of dates with several other SIFF events, namely the Our Telekom National Kids Football, Cultural Exchange and Education Festival.
The festival had to be moved forward due to issues with accommodation for the participating schools. Consequently, this has affected the dates for the SIFF congress meeting.
Another reason stated by SIFF for the rescheduling is the visit of the OFC President, Reynald Temarii, scheduled in the week leading up to the previously announced congress dates.
SIFF General Secretary Eddie Ngava, said that the SIFF Executive Committee has seen it fit to move the congress to a time when the SIFF office will be fully able to deliver the support logistics and administration for SIFF’s most important meeting of the year.
