Makira Ulawa, Malaita schools in finals

Parego Primary School of Makira Ulawa leads group A from their haul of 4 wins and 2 draws out of a toal of 6 matches.
Group A second place is claimed by Gwaigeo of Malaita Province. They managed 4 wins and 1 draw, their only loss was against Parego.
In Group B, Kilusakwalo tallied 12 points from their 3 wins and 3 draws and lead Marou Bay of Makira Ulawa who have 9 points.
The story in Group A was clear cut with Parego dominating their pool despite having some of the smallest players in the competition.
Don Waoha was instrumental for them in their victories pulling defenders away on the right and giving space for his forwards to pounce.
Gwaigeo were favourites to top Group A but their nervousness against Parego saw them lose the top spot to the group leaders.
Gwaigeo coach, George Foli, was disappointed with the situation his team is now facing since they will now meet the second Malaita team in the competition in the semifinals.
“We were hoping for an all Malaita final but unfortunately, we lost to Parego so we will now meet our sister school in the semis. Our loss to Parego was disappointing for us, our opponents used their speed well and we made some mistakes,” Foli said.
Parego and Marou Bay are also in the same predicament and will be meeting each other in the semi finals.
The semi finals are set for 2:00pm tomorrow in SIFF Academy North Field and SIFF Academy South Field respectively.
