Malaita Kingz 2 – Koloale 2

The result pushed Koloale back to fourth place and allowed last season wooden spooners Real Kakamora to move up to third place. The outcome, however, could have been worse for Koloale had Jack Jethro scored a last minute opportunity which he sent wide despite having the open goal all to himself.
Ian Paia opened for Koloale after 23 minutes but despite getting the lion’s share of possession in the first half they were able to find the back of the net again only once. Mostyn Beui scored the second 3 minutes before the halftime break to take Koloale’s lead to 2-0.
The second half was more Malaita Kingz than Koloale and the provincial side managed to get 2 goals on the scoreboard to level proceedings before the full time whistle. Sammy Willie scored the Kingz’s first after 73 minutes and then Henry Timewale added the equaliser with 9 minutes left to spare.
The talk of the match, however, was Jethro’s miss which could have sealed the win for Malaita Kingz. The player actually decided to celebrate before kicking the ball and this resulted in his effort turning sideways to exit the field harmlessly.
