Youth Solomon Cup last four decided

The Youth Solomon Cup semi-finalists have been decided after the completion of group matches today at SIFF academy in Honiara.

Temotu top Group A with a clean sweep with four wins from four games played.

Makira Ulawa defeated defending champions Western 2-0 to claim second spot with 9 points.

Renbel posted their biggest win against Isabel with a 5-1 result but it was not enough to see them through as they finished with only 6 points.

The biggest upset was in Group B as favourites Malaita who have won all their group fixtures are eliminated after a player under investigation for his eligibility was found quality of lying about his age.

Therefore, Malaita has lose valuable 6 points from the win against Honiara, Guadalcanal and Lauru.

Honiara and Central Islands share the spoils in the final group match today to decide the top two teams from the group.

Honiara top the group with 4 points with a superior goal difference to Central Islands who claimed second spot also with 4 points.

Due to disarray in Group B, the disciplinary committee has decided that Guadalcanal, Central and Malaita lose points where the ineligible players played.

Meanwhile, the competition will take a break before the semi-finals on Tuesday next week.
