The Solomon Islands National Women’s U-19 team have qualified for the knockout stages of the OFC Women’s U-19 Championship in Suva, Fiji.
Finishing as runners up in Group C behind the Cook Islands, Solomon Islands have been drawn for quarter final number 3 against defending Champions New Zealand on Sunday 2 July.
The U-19 girls impressively edged Tahiti 1-0 in their opening Group match, however, went down to the Cook Islands in their final pool match yesterday by a goal to nil. Cook Islands finished top of the Group with 4 points while Solomon Islands with 3 points and Tahiti with 1 point. The three countries granted direct qualifications to the next stages.
