SIFF to run coaching course

The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) technical department will be running an OFC C License course this month in Honiara.

It’s a week-long course involving practical and theoretical sessions both off and on the pitch.

SIFF Technical Director, Felipe Vega-Arango will be the coaching instructor for the duration of the course.

Local coaches with OFC D licenses qualification and former Solomon Islands international players are eligible to apply for registration which closes on Friday 12th October at 3pm.

Honiara Football Association (HFA) coaches you that did the youth certificate are also eligible.

Coaches who already completed the OFC C License course will need to do a refreshment course otherwise they will be stripped off their qualification.

This is part of the Technical Department ongoing education programmes.

Following the guidelines of OFC, SIFF has established a new coaching education structure to have a clear pathway for the future of the game in the country.

The success of football is very much tied with the success of coaches at the individual level.

In recognition of this, a very strong push is being made by the SIFF technical department to train qualified coaches for local clubs and teams.

By impacting football positively through coaching, it is expected that overall success will come about.

Please call in at the SIFF headquarter and see the technical director if you have further questions.

Meanwhile, the coaching course will start on Monday 15th October at SIFF conference room.
