Futsal pioneer and junior Kurukuru team manager Nacaneili Seru is currently in Buenos Aires to take part in the Youth Olympic Futsal Tournament official draw.
Speaking from Argentina, Seru said he is looking forward to the official programme during his brief visit.
“Just want to let you all know that I have arrived last night and ready for the workshop and official draw outlined in the programme”, he said.
Beside his official engagement with FIFA, Seru will meet with Argentina football giants Boca Juniors.
“Apart from the programme I am also looking forward to meet up with Boca Juniors head coach to make further discussions on the plan to have our team in Buenos Aires on week prior to the games”, he stressed
Solomon Islands have qualified to inaugural futsal tournament as Oceania Football Confederation champions in the recent OFC Youth futsal tournament held in New Zealand earlier this year.
FIFA and the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (BAYOGOC) warmly invited the participating member associations to attend the Official Draw and related activities.
The draw will be held at the new Casa de Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina on Friday, 24 August 2018
FIFA Deputy Secretary General, Zvonimir Boban said the officials will attend a team workshop apart from the official draw.
“FIFA and BAYOGOC will organise a team workshop at the Argentinian National Olympic Committee offices and the Brick Hotel on 22 and 23 August to provide participating countries with valuable information on their preparation for the competition,” he said.
“FIFA and BAYOGOC will arrange for all team delegations to visit the match halls and training sites after the team workshop.”
The Youth Olympics Futsal tournament is set to start on October 7th after the official opening ceremony on October 6th 2018.
