Koloale 5 – Real Kakamora 1

Both sides had points to prove walking onto the pitch with Koloale needing to reaffirm the faith of its fans following their 3 – 0 beating by Solomon Warriors last weekend while Real Kakamora are badly in need of points to escape from the bottom the Telekom S-League ladder where they are currently at.
Koloale opened strongly with Henry Fa’arodo Jnr. going in hard for a shot in the 6th minute and later setting Benjamin Totori up with a through pass leaving the striker with only the goalkeeper to beat but he put the ball against post and it bounced out of the field of play harmlessly.
Ian Paia put Koloale ahead in the 15th minute after being denied by Lawrence Mafane’s top class save in his earlier attempt, this time adding a little bit more power to ensure that his shot went all the way past the Real Kakamora keeper.
Real Kakamora almost equalised in the 31st minute when a cross was missed by the Koloale defenders and headed for the unmarked Paul Usumae who went for the spectacular with a volley only to see the ball shoot past the top of crossbar.
Down by only 1 goal going into the breather, Real Kakamora still had the second half to turn their table their way but, unfortunately for them, Koloale also decided during the halftime break to tune up their scoring in the second stanza.
Totori was on target in the 51st minute to put Koloale 2 nil in front after some nice footwork saw him beat 2 defenders before letting the ball loose against Mafane who did his best to make a save but the shot was too quick.
Koloale went further in front when substitute Ezra Sale got in on the action in the 67th minute after combining tightly with Totori for several quick short passes in the Real Kakamora penalty box before he slotted the ball home.
Real Kakamora threatened to pull one back after Sale’s goal with Brendan Rou sending his shot low and hard from a narrow angle but Shadrack Ramoni was in position and got one hand to tap the ball away.
Willie Garo followed shortly with another promising Real Kakamora attempt lobbing the ball towards goal but, fortunately for Koloale, Ramoni was able to tip the ball over the cross bar and deny the tall defender his chance for glory.
On the other end of the park Koloale made it 5 – 0 on a counter attack through Fa’arodo Jnr. who scrambled a shot home after the Real Kakamora defenders failed to clear the ball away from their penalty area.
With only 10 minutes left Real Kakamora got their one and only breakthrough in the game when Ian Ngahugari sent the ball to the unmarked Lyson Wate who fired past Ramoni and he could have added another before fulltime but his shot went wide off the mark.
The win increases Koloale’s buffer on top of the Telekom S-League table where they now have totalled 27 points from 10 games and their opponents are left to continue searching for their first 3 points of the season which continues to elude them.
