Marist Fire 2 – Hana 2

With hopes of chasing the league title already over Marist Fire are now involved in a race to escape from the bottom of the table and their single point gain against Hana allows them to move within 1 point of KOSSA who occupy 7th place. For Hana the result was one of disappointment especially considering that they led by 2-0 before the halftime break and gave away the win in the space of 4 minutes right at the end of the match.
Hana were fully in control of the match in the first half and had 2 goals to show for their efforts. Both came from futsal player, Dickson Ramo. His first came in the 23rd minute following a corner kick and confusion in the Marist Fire penalty area and this allowed the striker to give his side the lead. Within 3 minutes Ramo made it 2-0 with a shot taken from the edge of the penalty box.
Further opportunities for Hana to put the game away came before the halftime whistle but they were wasted with some efforts going far too high despite being taken from very good positions. Hana’s game in the second half was less organised and at times their midfield crossed over unnecessarily into their defence causing confusion and later in the match this led to Marist Fire’s 2 goals.
The turnaround for Marist Fire came from a penalty kick after a foul by Jeffery Henry inside his own penalty box. The experienced Abraham Iniga put the shot away to take the score line to 2-1. With 4 minutes left before fulltime Iniga struck again to equalise and ensure that his team got a share of the spoils on offer.
