Hana 1 – Malaita Kingz 2

Malaita Kingz were strong throughout the match and were unfortunate not to register more goals especially when opportunities came rolling for them in the late stages of the match.
Trevor Suinao put Malaita Kingz in front after only 8 minutes when he beat 2 Hana defenders to turn in a shot from a narrow angle beating Bartholomew Fisiniu despite his good attempt at saving the ball.
Hana tried to reply in kind through Tony Otini but his task was not made easy by the tough Malaita Kingz backline which managed to break down any attack from their opponents and quickly turned them into counter offensives.
Malaita Kingz were able to take their slender lead without problem to the half time break and the second half started well for them when Michael Taeman scored from a cross set up by Jack Jethro in the 49th minute.
Taeman’s goal gave them some breathing space but 40 minutes remained to be played and Hana were well capable of equalising and taking over within that time.
Fortunately for Malaita Kingz, Hana’s only reply was Godwin Fugui’s goal in the 82nd minute and the referee confirmed their victory with the final whistle 8 minutes later with their 2 – 1 lead still intact.
The win puts Malaita Kingz ahead on 5th position in the Telekom S-Leaugue table ahead of Hana, Marist Fire and Real Kakamora.
