Marist Fire 2 – Real Kakamora 2

Both teams were at the bottom of the table prior to the start of the match so a win would have been the preferred result for either side but a matched performance meant that they only shared 1 point each.
Marist Fire went ahead quite spectacularly in the opening 30 seconds when a hopeful ball from Iniga deflected off a Real Kakamora defender leaving goalkeeper Mike Ngidu, who was running in the opposite direction, with little to do as it went past him.
Real Kakamora had their first chance to equalise in the 10th minute from a Ian Ngahugari shot but Navusu Kitu was on hand to make the save and deny the midfielder but Rex Honu made sure that his shot went in when he beat the Marist Fire offside trap to score right at the stroke of halftime.
Real Kakamora were again pushing hard in the second half and Brendan Rou almost put them in front right at the restart but his shot went just inches wide and into the side netting much to the disappointment of their fans.
However, their fans were given the chance to cheer again in the 55th minute when Papua New Guinea import Cyril Muta headed into the back of the net from a corner kick to give Real Kakamora the lead.
Real Kakamora were able to hold on to the lead for most of the second half but an 89th minute goal from Iniga took away their chance to finish the game with all 3 points and they settled for a draw in what was nonetheless a fine performance from them.
The positions of the 2 sides in the table have not changed as Marist Fire are still on the 7th spot and Real Kakamora are on 8 but both have notched an additional point each bringing their respective tallies to 10 and 2.
