The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Youth Development Officer. The Youth Development Officer shall be responsible for developing youth football in line with SIFF objectives in the area of coaching and player development.
The SIFF Youth Development Officer reports to the SIFF Technical Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To be responsible for the overall development of Youth Football in Solomon Islands
• To develop a strategic management plan to effectively deliver and manage the youth football development program under Iumi Plei Program within the fifty constituencies in Solomon Islands.
• To implement the Iumi Plei program with the advice and guidance from the technical director
• To develop school of excellence in every province
• Assist provincial football associations and clubs organise regular youth football tournaments, competitions and leagues
• Develop a cadre of Youth Football coaches and trainers in each province
• Promote the involvement of girls in Youth Football in every province
• Assist SIFF secure sponsorship for Youth Football Development Programmes (courses, tournaments, competitions and leagues).
• Assist in drawing up budget for Youth Football activities and annual work plans
• Be responsible for youth national leagues, tournaments and championships as proposed by SIFF
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities relating to Youth Football Development that the SIFF Technical Director may assign from time to time.
Qualifications:
•Have a minimum of OFC Youth C license or equivalent
•Prior coaching experience at the youth level, preferably working with U12 to U16 year old players
•Strong knowledge and understanding of the technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects of football
•Have excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
•Ability to work collaboratively with provincial football association (PFA) Youth development officers (YDOs) and Women development officers (WDOs)
•Enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for player development
•Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and travel when required
•Possess computer literacy especially with Microsoft or excel
•Valid driver’s license but no essential
