Women’s Premier League completes first rounds of competition

After exhilarating ten weeks of intense women’s club football competition the Solrais Women’s Premier League (SWPL) heads into the final rounds of the season starting this weekend at the DC Park, Central Guadalcanal.

With seven more match weeks to be played RSIPF Royals are six points clear top of the standings as Henderson Eels, Naha FC and defending Champions Koloale FC are on points range in the top four.

Early first-half goals from Margret Beti and Naelyn Metake last week against Haura WFC puts them further with 24 points top of the table after round one – a form they will be looking to maintain when they take on Koloale FC this Saturday 1 June.

Koloale WFC who are on fourth position after the initial rounds fought back to winning ways picking up a much needed 1-0 win over a strong determined Naha FC. Star forward Illeen Pegi got the only goal after a goalless first-half.

Trailing by six points behind the leaders, Henderson Eels WFC and Naha FC will look to strengthen their positions.

Henderson Eels WFC round two kickoff match will go head-to-head with Haura WFC this weekend and a catchup fixture against Geniagu United to be scheduled.

Naha FC will have the ample time to revitalize following their match postponement against West Honiara WFC and without doubt anticipate their top clash against RSIPF Royals in the coming Match Week 12.

Haura WFC and Ha’arosia WFC sits with 9 points each in mid table, while West Honiara WFC with a winning point and Geniagu WFC still to open their accounts.
