A spectacular celebration to mark the official closing of yet another successful season of the Solrais Women’s Premier League (SWPL) 2023.
Nine women’s football clubs gathered in colors for the awards presentation of the fourth edition to formally recognize players’ and teams’ efforts for a remarkable six (6) months of league competition.
Speaking at the night’s event SIFF President Donald Marahare commended major sponsors Solrais Company Limited for the tremendous support of women’s football and its development at the national level – an avenue that brought together over two hundred (200) plus football talents.

President Marahare highlighted that through the league SIFF will continue to promote and encourage providing more opportunities for the participation of women and girls, be it as players, coaches, match officials, and club officials.
The league has now become more important marking the second season for a club to represent the country at the OFC Women’s Club Champions League, and for next year this year’s new Champions Henderson Eels are up for the regional challenge.
“Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this success and displayed the passion for football,” SIFF President Marahare expressed.
For next year, the President confirmed that there will be more organized competitions for women and girls in the following categories, Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18.
“There will be youth competitions and grassroots league competitions for the national Under 20 categories. In terms of championships, there will also be the senior women’s Solomon Cup next year in September next year and additional youth national championships for Under 14 and Under 16 girls.
The annual league will continue next year with the introduction of the OFC senior women’s Olympic Qualifiers in February; thus, players are urged to continue their passion and performance for national representation.
Solrais Company continues expressing commitment to supporting the journey for women’s football through its core values to empower women and girls.
