TSL Match Week 5 – Slender lead for City at the summit

Honiara City FC fared into the top spot after Week 5 following their rampant 4-0 victory over Laugu United – thanks to a nil-all draw between Central Coast and Waneagu United that saw City go top with a point advantage.

The Jerry Allen-coached side proved consistent going undefeated in five matches and a top clash against Central Coast next weekend.

Honiara City manager Jerry Allen is yet to be satisfied with the team’s current form.

In a post-match Allen said that for his team moving forward, the aim is to get maximum points as preparations are paramount with the challenge ahead.

“So far so good, the boys maintained what we learn in every match and a win today (Sunday) put more confidence in the team going forward,” Allen maintains.

He continued that his side is far yet satisfied with their current form and looks to improve moving forward in the league.

Season’s debutants, SOSA FC and FC Juniper Tree saw an intense contest as the Saints picked out a late winner to mark their third win of the season – moving into the top four.

On the day’s main match, Central Coast and Waneagu United were battling out for top status, however, yesterday’s downpour proved to interrupt what could have been a class match.

The top-tier competition is reaching midway next weekend.
