The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has called on Telekom S-League clubs to make use of the international transfer period or transfer window before its closes next week.
At the moment the Solomon Islands transfer period is still open and will close on 5th August for clubs to request for any international player’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from clubs overseas.
SIFF understands that there are some players registered to foreign clubs currently in the country and could not travel due to travel restriction imposed by the government.
It is important for clubs intending to register international-based players to contact SIFF to facilitate the transfer request to the player’s former club and association.
The initial transfer window for Solomon Islands should be from 1st to 30th August 2020 but SIFF has applied to FIFA for temporary amendments of the season dates and registration period which is from 6th July 2020 to 5th August 2020.
According to temporary amendments to FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, an amateur player is free to transfer from club to club at the end of the season and the engagement of an out-of-contract player is permitted.
SIFF is not a party to any contractual agreements between clubs and their employees in particular players or the transfer agreements between two clubs. Thus, clubs need to sort out any issues regarding players during the registration period.
Meanwhile, domestic transfer of players will be done when clubs submitted their registration forms to the competition department on the due date 30 July 2020.
A registration fee of $20,000 must be paid to Solomon Islands Football Federation upon the submission of your team List.
TSL Technical Meeting will take place on Friday 31 July 2020 at SIFF Conference Room at 5 pm. Team Coach and Team a manager from each team are invited to attend.
