Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Just Play program will continue its impact through football on the lives of children – thanks to the Australian Government’s development program Team Up, for the support that is now provided in the country.
Following the official launch yesterday at the Barana Community (North/West Guadalcanal) of the Australian Sport Development program, SIFF is extremely pleased with the partnership.
SIFF President Donald Marahare in his remarks highlighted the vision of Just Play in using football.
“The Just Play program is a pioneering initiative designed to bring about transformative social change in the Pacific region through the medium of sports.

“The program’s primary objectives encompass gender equality promotion, fostering inclusivity, and providing access to quality education pathways and life skills. The program focuses on creating a safe, respectful, and collaborative environment for both girls and boys, women and men, including individuals with disabilities, by engaging various stakeholders,” Marahare emphasized.
He extends a heartfelt appreciation to Australia through its High Commission Office here in Honiara saying,” I want to also acknowledge the other programs that will now fall under the Team Up banner in Solomons. We all share the common goal of seeing all people realize their full potential through sport.
Team Up is the Australian Government’s sport for development program comprising more than 35 partnerships across Asia-Pacific that are working towards three outcomes:
1. Sports programs attract and retain women, girls, and people with a disability, as well as men and boys
2. Sports organizations are safe, inclusive, and accessible
3. Australia and Asia-Pacific partners use sport to strengthen relationships and build closer collaboration
It contributes to the Australia-Asia-Pacific sports partnerships and supports all people to realize their full potential through sport.
