Suri confident for more international experience at the PacificAus Sports Four Nations tournament

Solomon Islands national women’s team head coach, Batram Suri, addressed the media during the pre-tournament press conference this afternoon for the PacificAus Sports Four Nations tournament, highlighting the significance of international exposure in a high-performance environment.

This year’s edition presents a new challenge, as the senior women’s side will face an Asian opponent for the first time— the Thailand U-20 Women’s team

Suri emphasized that such matchups are crucial for the squad’s development as they prepare for the OFC Women’s Nations Cup later in July.

Suri also noted the team’s runner-up finish in the inaugural 2022 competition and acknowledged the improvements made so far in strengthening the team’s level of competition.

He remains confident that the experience gained from these tournaments continues to be an invaluable learning curve for women’s football and contributes to its growth and the nation’s standing in Oceania.
