Staff celebrates International Day of Sports for Development and Peach

Staff of the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) commemorate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) and part the OFC “What’s Your Move?” campaign by posing with No War and Peace placards against the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

According to the United Nations, “The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP), which takes place annually on 6 April, presents an opportunity to recognize the positive role sport and physical activity play in communities and in people’s lives across the globe.

“Sport has the power to change the world; it is a fundamental right and a powerful tool to strengthen social ties and promote sustainable development and peace, as well as solidarity and respect for all”.

OFC is working with Just Play and Women’s football departments around the region to develop the “What’s Your Move?” campaign to highlight the role women play in football in Oceania.
