Solright FC tops Solrais Women’s Premier League table standings after it successfully completed match week 8 of the competition over the past weekend.
Solright FC now leads the table standings with 22 points after defeating Koloale FC by 3-0 at Lawson Tama Staduim. The win by Solright FC sees an end to Koloale FC winning streak since the league started.
Speaking to SWPL21 media Solright Head Coach Godfrey Manehioha said he is happy with his team’s performance. “The girls did very well today basically we followed our game plan and with a bit of luck on our side it worked for us of course we are very happy with the three points” Mr Manehioha said.
He also added Koloale was tough team to beat as they were at the top of the table after wining their previous seven matches. Meanwhile Koloale’s Head Coach Chris Asipara said his team played good football despite the poor goal keeping during the match.
“Tactically we played good football our disadvantage was our number one goal keeper was injured” he said.
Mr Asipara also added despite the defeat the team’s spirit is bright and that the focus now is on the next match. SWPL21 will play its final match for round 1 this coming weekend at DC Park.
