Fiji emerged victorious in the second game of the March 2024 International Friendly Series against the Solomon Islands, with a score of 2-0 at Lawson Tama Stadium.
Mohammed Raheem scored a goal for Fiji in the first half, and veteran striker Roy Krishna scored a second goal five minutes after the hour mark, securing a much-needed victory for the Fijian team.
This win comes after losing 2-1 against the host in the first game on Monday.
For the Solomon Islands, this match marks the end of Spanish coach Felipe Vega-Arango Alonso’s tenure, who had been in charge for three years.
Vega-Arango’s contract expires in June, just before the OFC Nations Cup.

“This is my last match with the team, and I wish them the very best. I had a good relationship with all the players and I hope for the best for them in football and life – more in life than in football because life is more important, and I hope they have good careers without injuries.
“I will be a Solomon Islands fan forever.
The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) is currently searching for a new coach to lead the senior men’s team in this important tournament.
The Fijian men’s team departs Honiara yesterday.
