The SIFF Women’s Futsal Challenge 2024 continues its exciting run of fixtures this week, promising more entertaining matches and showcasing burgeoning talent.
Organized by the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF), this event not only provides a competitive platform for local players but also plays a critical role in talent identification and national team selection.
SIFF Futsal Development Officer, Dickson Kadau, emphasized the importance of the challenge, noting its success in unveiling new talents.
“These players are potential candidates for the national team that will compete in the OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup 2024, set to take place in Honiara.
“The ongoing tournament is pivotal for scouting and preparing a squad capable of representing the Solomon Islands on the regional stage,” Kadau told SIFF Media.
The challenge kicked off last week, and its momentum is set to continue as teams vie for the top spot.10 teams are divided into two groups, and the winners and runners-up from each group will advance to the playoffs.
The inaugural event not only fosters competitive spirit but also strengthens the development of women’s futsal in the country.
All matches will be played at the SIFF Headquarters and Technical Center, Futsal Court.
