SIFF supports provincial-based schools through the ‘After School’ program

The Women’s Development Department of the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has continued with its ‘After School’ program to provide training equipment to primary and secondary school students in Honiara and the provinces.

As part of this program, Ringi School in Kolombangara, Western Province, and Boromole Primary School in Central Islands Province have received basic football equipment today at the SIFF Academy.

The SIFF Women’s Development Officer, Antoinette Miniti, has expressed her keenness to collaborate with the Provincial Football Associations (PFA) to expand this initiative as a way if increasing participation in the provinces.

Ringi School Sports Mistress and WFA MA Senior Coach, Virah Lipaqepo expressed her gratitude for the equipment, saying that it will be instrumental in developing football in the Western Province.

She hopes that this program will provide a platform for students to showcase their talents.

Central Island Football Association (CIFA) Women Development Officer, Angie Muni also shared similar sentiments.

The football equipment includes; balls, bibs, football cons, markers, goalkeeping uniforms, and mini training goals.

The ‘After School’ program was initiated in 2023, and this year will continue with its rollout to other provincial schools and Provincial Football Associations (PFA).
