Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF), through its mutual partnership with Football Australia, has been invited to participate in the groundbreaking Football Australia Pacific Shadowing Program.

The program, set to run from November 24 to December 2 in Queensland, Australia, offers a unique opportunity for regional football professionals to enhance their skills in event and match-day operations – supported by the Australian Government through PacificAus Sports.

SIFF’s Super Futsal League (SSFL) Coordinator, Jason Oihanua, has been selected to represent the federation in this landmark initiative.

The program is designed to provide Member Association staff who are actively involved in football event planning and operations with hands-on experience.

Participants will have the chance to work alongside Football Australia’s Events Team in delivering high-profile international matches.

The inaugural program aligns with two highly anticipated fixtures featuring the Australian women’s national team, the CommBank Matildas, against the Brazil women’s national team.

Match One: Australia v Brazil, Suncorp Stadium (Brisbane), Thursday 28 November

Match Two: Australia v Brazil, CBUS Stadium (Gold Coast), Sunday 1 December

This initiative underscores the commitment of both SIFF and Football Australia to fostering talent development and strengthening football operations across the Pacific region.

“I’m very much looking forward to learning new things from these,” Oihanua expresses.

“It’s of international standard working alongside football professionals and experts from Football Australia and I’m excited because it is already a big privilege for me, I want to thank Football Australia and my seniors from SIFF for enabling me to attend this program.

He joins colleagues from Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Oihanua’s participation marks a significant milestone for SIFF and highlights the federation’s dedication to professional growth and international collaboration in football.
