SIFF MA Futsal Referee Course successful

Twenty-three (23) referees and three (3) referee instructors successfully completed a one-week SIFF MA Futsal Course from Monday 9th to Friday 13th October 2023.

This is part of the SIFF Referee Development Department’s efforts to develop aspiring referees and encourage inclusiveness in the futsal code with FIFA’s support.

FIFA Futsal Instructor Ken Wallace facilitated the weeklong workshop.

With a wealth of over twenty (20) years of experience in the Oceania region, the Kiwi is impressed by the enthusiasm shown to improve the code at the national and Oceania levels.

The course covered futsal understanding, playing systems and techniques, and tactical fouls in ensuring a good game of futsal.

“These participants are very keen, and by completing this course I’d like to see them referring to competitions and even far as in Oceania,” Wallace said.

SIFF representative and Referee Development Officer Hamilton Siau congratulated the participants while assuring more support from the federation and more competitions will be organized for the referees to put into work the knowledge they have learned.

Referees were awarded with a certificate of completion today (Friday) at the Honiara City Council Multi-Purpose Conference Room.
