Donald Marahare is the new Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) President following an elective congress held today at the Heritage Park Hotel for a new executive that will take forward the mandate of football for the next four years.
In attendance affiliates from the eight Provincial Football Association (PFA) Referees Association, Women’s football, Coaches Association, and four Telekom S-League clubs voted in Marahare and his nine members executive.

“I want to thank everyone who has shown their support and trust in me to lead football for the next four years,” Marahare made the remarks after the official announcement.
“Our work in developing football continues from today and onwards, moving the game we all love forward. I’m prepared and let us drive football development in the country.
He said that under his leadership he would like to see the same support from the former executive under Willie Lai to continue working together in achieving and reaching football goals as a federation.
Marahare got the majority of 10 votes out of 17 in total.
SIFF Electoral Committee conducted the election led by Dr. Paul Mae, Benjamin Afuga, and Norman Vavaya and representatives from the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC). Also, overseeing the process are FIFA Director of Member Associations Asia and Oceania, Sanjeevan Balasingham FIFA Regional Development Manager David Firisua.
“Thank you to the electoral committee for a job well done as this is this SIFF election is done professionally. Thank you also to the visiting FIFA delegates, we look forward to continuing this journey with the football governing body,” Marahare said.

Three members are voted in as Vice Presidents, Tommy Mana Makira/Ulawa Football Association (MUFA), Robert Seni (KOSSA FC), and Lyndon Bako Isabel Football Association (IFA).
The ordinary members elected are Loyley Ngira, Brian Pongotapu, Tome Kiki, and McLean Biliki. SIFF Women’s rep elect is Rose Paia.
