Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare officially received the SIFF Academy during a milestone handover yesterday.
The million-dollar project reached its completion phase and will be the new home for football – an avenue to take football to greater heights in its continuous development.
An endeavor that was made possible through SIFF’s partnership with FIFA in foregoing the agreement for the facilities – an act of solidarity and expression of belief in football development.
SIG has been an essential pillar of support throughout this journey. SIFF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2020, outlining SIFF’s shared commitment to replace its former facilities that were sacrificed.

SIFF continues to express gratitude to its generous donors particularly the government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) for making this dream a reality. Other donors who also involved in this noble endeavor.
For this project, FIFA also provided crucial financial support allowing SIFF to acquire essential resources.
“Now we are one of the very few federations in the region that are fortunate enough to receive such a gift to use it to the fullest. The SIFF Academy will become the new home of football in the Solomon Islands,” SIFF President Donald Marahare highlighted.
It will foster the development of coaches, players, and sports administrators and it will serve as a training ground for our national teams for football education.
The facilities will host SIFF Talent Development Scheme (TDS) programs for both young boys and girls who will be preparing to represent the nation with pride.
“We are looking forward to taking full responsibility for this facility.
