National U-14 Championship finals set

The inaugural SIFF Just Play U-14 National Championship is narrowed down from 42 teams only eight teams who will be competing in the semi-finals of the boy’s and girl’s competitions at Lawson Tama tomorrow.

Western Tomoko B, Honiara Thunder, Honiara Tigers and Henderson Eels are the semi-finalists of the SIFF Just Play U-14 National Championship boy’s category.

Western Tomoko B equalised in the final minutes to tie the match 1-1 at full time before going on to win on penalties against Malaita Myzomela B in the first quarterfinal at DC Park today.

Honiara Thunder, Honiara Tigers and Henderson Eels booked their spot in the last four via penalty shoot out wins.

In the girl’s category, Makira Ulawa, Isabel Frigates, Western Tomoko and Malaita Myzomela qualify for the semifinals. This is after winning their quarterfinals yesterday at DC Park.

The semi-finals and finals are scheduled to take place at Lawson Tama tomorrow morning.

Lawson Tama is expecting a big crowd since entry is free for both grandstand and hillside.
