NATIONAL TEAMS POSITION – KIT MANAGER

The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified/experienced individuals for the management of the Solomon Islands international football teams for the 2025 football season. Position Overview

The Kit Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the team’s kit and equipment. This includes ensuring that the players and coaching staff have the necessary apparel, training gear, and matchday kits, as well as overseeing the care, maintenance, and distribution of all equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for providing a professional and smooth matchday experience for the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Kit Management:
    • Oversee the inventory of all team kits and equipment, including training gear, matchday uniforms, and player accessories.
    • Ensure that all kits are clean, well-maintained, and ready for use on match days and during training sessions.
    • Manage the distribution and collection of kits, ensuring players have the correct sizes and gear at all times.
    • Coordinate the purchasing of new kits, equipment, and supplies as needed, keeping track of stock levels and placing orders when required.
  • Matchday Support:
    • Ensure that all matchday kits are prepared and ready for the team, including uniforms, socks, and other accessories.
    • Set up the locker room for matches, ensuring that players have all necessary gear (e.g., clean kits, boots, medical supplies).
    • Collect and clean kits after matches, ensuring that they are returned in good condition for future use.
    • Ensure that any spare or replacement kits are available in case of damage or changes to the lineup.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Regularly check and maintain the condition of training equipment, such as cones, balls, bibs, and goals.
    • Coordinate any repairs or replacements needed for training or match equipment.
    • Ensure the safe storage of all equipment to prevent damage and loss.
  • Logistics and Organization:
    • Keep detailed records of all kit inventory, including the issuance of new gear to players and staff.
    • Track the use and return of items, ensuring all team members have the correct gear at all times.
    • Organize the transport and delivery of kits and equipment for away games, ensuring that everything required is packed and ready for travel.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the Team Manager, Head Coach, and other staff to ensure all kit and equipment needs are met, including special requests for player gear or accessories.
    • Communicate with kit suppliers and manufacturers to manage orders, deliveries, and returns.
  • Player and Staff Support:
    • Assist players and staff with any issues related to kit or equipment, including fitting problems, repairs, or additional requests.
    • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with players, staff, and vendors.
  • Health, Safety, and Welfare:
    • Ensure that all kits and equipment meet health and safety standards, especially in relation to footwear, training gear, and medical equipment.
    • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure that the necessary medical kits are available for training and match days.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kit management or equipment management role, preferably within a sports team or similar environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel for away games.
  • Good physical health and stamina, as the role may involve lifting and carrying equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, coaching staff, and suppliers.
  • Basic understanding of soccer and the specific needs of the team is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in sports environment.
  • Knowledge of kit suppliers and apparel brands used in soccer and applicable regulations on team kits.

The selected candidate will be required to complete the FIFA Safe Guarding Certificate training module to confirm their engagement.
