NATIONAL ACADEMY EQUIPMENT MANAGER

Overview of Position

The SIFF National Academy Equipment Manager (NAEM) is responsible for the maintenance and management of sports equipment and gear used by the academy programme. The NAEM responsible for keeping a record of the equipment and issuing them for use to the academy coaches and athletes. This role is crucial in ensuring that coaches and athletes have the proper gear and equipment needed for optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the NAEM shall include the following:

Equipment Management role including overseeing the inventory including training wear, technical gear, coaching equipment/tools and performance analysis equipment etc. ensuring they are in good condition, keeping a record of their usage and ensuring they are stored safely and securely.

Logistics and Coordination role that involves establishing the needs for training sessions and matches by communicating with coaches and making the required equipment available to the coaches and athletes, before, during and after trainings and games.

Safety and Compliance by checking the quality of equipment and removing from usage unsafe or damaged equipment and requesting their replacement.

Administrative Tasks such as ensuring required equipment are budgeted for and procured as required by the academy programme annually.

Daily Tasks and Duties:

The daily tasks and duties include the following:

Work with the head coach and assistant coaches to issue equipment required or training and matches on daily basis

Ensuring equipment and gear especially playing jerseys are is prepared for matches and collecting them for laundry after matches.

Keeping a record of equipment issued and ensuring they are returned and stored after training and matches with a focus on running a sweep of the venue used to ensure no equipment is left behind

Cleaning dirty equipment as required before storage

Attend team meetings and coaching staff discussions to contribute insights on equipment requirements with the overall academy management team

Qualifications

The required qualifications for this position are:

At least a SISC Certificate in Education

Football coach training will be beneficial

Additionally, the applicant must not chew betel nut, smoke or consume alcohol.  This position requires physical work and therefore we will seek a candidate that is fit/healthy.

The applicant will be required to complete FIFA Safeguard training if successful.
