Mataks in for a second title as futsal season nears completion

Mataks Futsal Club is closing in on a double futsal title in the SIFF Super Futsal League (SSFL) 2023/2024 seasons.

Out of the 9 participating futsal clubs in the league competition, Mataks are 2 points clear top of the pile with two remaining catch-up matches still to be played.

Neighboring rivals Futsal G-Camp settled for second claiming maximum points in their final league outing against bottom-placed SOSA FC 3-1.

Mataks earned crucial points the hard way after their narrow 2-1 victory over a strong Haura FC and will be looking to extend their supremacy when they play SOSA FC and The Saints at a later date to be confirmed.

It comes down to Haura FC and Dawn FC when they go head-to-head in a catch-up fixture to decide the third spot where The Saint held in the meantime after all 16 matches played.

Also, in match week 18 FC Salt overcome Namo FC 3-0 and Dawn FC 4-2 victorious over Wechon FC.

SSFL Coordinator Jason Oihanua accoladed the clubs and players for a successful run throughout the competition.

“We have reached another milestone and achieved another step forward in our efforts to continue developing the code through the competition,” he said.

Meanwhile, the coordinator said that later dates will be confirmed to play the remaining matches of the season and mark the closing presentation.
