Marist and Central Coast share points in tough stalemate

Central Coast FC was held to a 1-1 draw to share points with a brave Marist FC and go level on points top of the TSL table on goal difference today at Lawson Tama stadium.

With high intensity from kick-off, Central Coast got in the front foot through the boots of Hudson Oreinima in the opening 5 minutes.

Equal on possession Marist FC was determined to pick up and from a well-distributed play down the right flank found holding midfielder Ben Fox unmarked at the end of a cross to beat Philip Mango in goal.

Central Coast continues its dominance throwing the pressure up the field but the young Marist FC kept their composure to head for the breather on level terms.

In the second period, the match progresses with pace and the two teams are more involved in equal attacking form.

The Ohasio brothers, Calvin and Christian were in top form in defense for Marist FC to keep the Coast’s menacing counterattacks at bay.

The result means Central Coast FC are on level points with Honiara City top of the table at 23 points. Marist FC remained in the 6th spot with 17 points as the competition heads into a weeklong break before the second league resumes.
