Malaita ready for Beach soccer champ

Our two most active Beach Soccer members Malaita Football Association (MFA) and Western Football Association (WFA) have confirmed three teams each to complete in the National Invitational Beach Soccer championship in Honiara.

MFA president, Eddie Omokirio has confirmed Malaita will be presented by three teams from the eastern region where an active league was held this year.

“My executive initially confirmed a single team to represent us but after an open invitation from SIFF we have agreed to put together another two teams,” he said.

“There will be two teams from Kwai island and one from Ngongosila which consist of players from the league in east Malaita.”

Western Province also confirmed three teams to participate in the National Invitational Beach Soccer championship. Two provincial-based teams are currently in training under the guidance of former Bilikiki player, Benjamin Mela.The third Western province team comprise of players based in Honiara like Tutizama Tanito, Izomo Bird and veteran Samson Takayama.
