MALAITA Eagles have claimed the 2022 Solbrew Solomon Cup title after defeating Makira Ulawa’s Real Kakamora 2-1 in the grand final match on Saturday at Lawson Tama.
The Eagles came from a goal down to score two second half goals to claim victory.
Makira Ulawa was the first to find the back of the net one minutes before the half time break.
Steven Hagatepua gave Kakamora the lead from a long free kick.
Malaita Eagles hit back with the equalizer from Philip Suna’s penalty kick two minutes into the second half.
Gabriel William Kaitu’s tireless efforts for Eagles paid off 14 minutes before full time for their second and winning goal.
Malaita Eagles received Gold medals, the winning trophy and SBD$50, 000.
Real Kakamora received silver medals and SBD$30, 000 and Renbel IBIS received Bronze medals and SBD$20, 000.
