Solomon Islands national futsal team, Kurukuru will go into tomorrow’s third and fourth playoff at the OFC Futsal Nations Cup 2023 with hopes to finish on a high and regain some pride as Oceania’s all-time record holders.
Kurukuru aims to provide some spark and lacks nothing in confidence as they will take Fiji at 16:00 (NZL) and 14:00 (SOL) at the Bruce Pulman Arena in Auckland.
“We always wanted to win. And yes, the boys are recovered with a strong focus for our next match tomorrow,” Head Coach Damon Shaw told SIFF Media.
“The spirit has always been good, and we wanted to enjoy futsal and finish on a high.
The four (4) times FIFA Futsal World Cup Oceania representing side also plans to be more clinical if they have to see past the Fijians as it is important to achieve for their own pride.
Key starter Calvin Do’oro will not be making the team in tomorrow’s playoff after picking up the caution card twice against the Futsal Whites, but the English man is confident the players are back in shape to have a last go.
“It’s also going to be a big match and it is always important to win and we will take no chances than a win,” says Shaw.
