The Solomon Islands national futsal team Kurukuru despite losing their opening international friendly against Vietnam national futsal team took out the positives to continue their objective competing at an elite level.
The boys allowed to concede four goals late in the second-half to go down 5-0 against the Asian host and the head coach Damon Shaw is adamant and happy with the performance displayed.
“That was a really good test for the boys. Our objective was to compete and stay in the game at that level,” says Shaw.
“We know Vietnam are higher than us, actually better than us but we wanted to show that we can compete. We did great most of the game but it went away late and they scored.
He maintained that most importantly they compete.
“We can improve on that and keep a closer score margin in our next fixture. We got to be happy, never happy to lose but happy with the effort and performance of the boys,” he wraps.
Both sides will play again in the final friendly fixture, schedule for tonight Friday 26th at 9pm (Solomon Time).
